Today I’m going to share one of my favorite practices that gets the most activity out of LinkedIn: 10 Before 10.
The 10 Before 10 practice requires you to touch base with 10 people before 10 a.m. The first thing you want to do when implementing this practice is identify the 10 people you want to reach out to the night before. Are they the decision makers or connectors? Are they the center of influence? These are the questions you should be asking when deciding who you want to have an appointment with.
Pre-plan what you are going to say. Write down the script and know what your call to action is. It could be a phone call, text message, or a connection request on LinkedIn. I like to go through my list of first-degree connections that I haven't been in touch with for awhile and send them a personal message.

However, an even better way to connect is to use the phone. Just give them a call and say something like, “Hi, I found your profile on LinkedIn, I’m not selling anything, and I’d love to learn how we might be able to work together or be a resource for one another.” Most of the time they’ll take your call or at least return your call.
The magic of LinkedIn is serving, not selling. If you set a goal of connecting with 10 people every day before 10 a.m. your week is going to be more productive, your bank account will get bigger, and your bottom line will head in the right direction.
